A burnt gold English Pale Ale. Some malt present in the nose with a hint of lime and lemon peel. Medium bodied with some biscuit character and more citrus present in the mouth. The finish shows a clean bitterness with a touch of lingering grassiness.

Cask @ Salopian, the pub. Clear gold appearance, small white head. Could be cooler, has a mild sappy hop presence that seems a bit deflated at this temp..

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 16/10/2022. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. Some sharp lemon fruit, zingy citrus hops, Earl Grey notes, light, rich tea malts, and a dryish finish. Good.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A pale amber pour with a loose white head; nettle aroma; crisp biscuity body with a light fresh hedgerow hop taste; and a dry finish. Fresh and elegant.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a large foamy white head and good lacing. The aroma here is faint but distinctly strange – lemongrass and tea leaves. In the mouth it starts off with sweet malts, biscuits and bread rolls. A smidgen of floral hops too, and after a while bitter hops come through more strongly. Not bad, but a bit bland – would have expected better from Thornbridge.

Handpull cask at the Tip Inn, Loscoe. Mid-golden and clear with a film of white head. Bready aroma with some overripe citrus character. Sweet taste with notes of fruit tea and brown bread, falling to a more bitter finish later on. Lightly carbonated with a thin to medium body.nktbad but a bit nondescript for Thornbridge.
