First brewed in 2009 to celebrate the bicentennial of Charles Darwin’s birth in our home town of Shrewsbury. A copper coloured Bitter given an international twist with an eclectic mix of new and old world hops that give the beer its distinctive lemony aroma and dry finish.

Old notes from 10-07-14. A 500ml bottle, gift from friends who visited Shropshire. Pours amber with a foamy white head. Aromas & tastes of fruits & malt. Hoppy medium bitter finish. Very well made bitter.

Cask at London & North Western, Birmingham. Clear amber, small beige head, ok lacing. Its malty with some caramel, apple, grassiness and spice. Moderately bitter with a nice stone fruit and malt finish. Smooth and goes down well. Very good bitter.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 7th May 2024. Coppery amber with shallow foam and scant lacing. Pungent aroma. Leafy hops, overripe fruits and sweet malts in-mouth, and a finish of sweet orchard fruits. Smooth mouthfeel and a full body.

Bottle. Nice brown grainy beginning. Sessionable, Creamy caramel with dry body. Grain but nice, bitter dry in the end, nice.

Creamy off white head on a pale copper coloured body. Sweet malt & berries aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a sharp clean back. Sweet, malt, stone fruit & caramel tastes with a tangy fruity bitter finish. Love it - Excellent Bitter.

Cask at the Green Ginger, Torquay. Pale amber with an off-white head. Very smooth. Malty with grapefruit coming through. Very, very drinkable. Good stuff yet again from Salopian.

# 2909; 4/2022. Malty, herbal, earthy aroma. Cloudy amber body; persistant white head. Caramely, herbal, earthy. Typical bitter. Pint, hand-pulled, pub, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).
