440 ml can. Pours amber with full head. Subtle aromas of fruit and bready malts. Flavors of dry honey, dried fruit of the trail mix kind, and more soft bready malts. Really nice.

Pure white rocky head stayed well on a translucent lightly carbonated copper coloured body. Fruity, caramel aroma. Very prickly on the tongue, reasonably thick & cloying. Sweet to the fore with honey, caramel & orange followed by a bitter back of citrus & pith.

500ml bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop. Pours clear gold, large persistent foamy white head. Aroma is prominent caramel, taste continues with what appears to be a standard English strong ale / barley wine character. Smooth, light caramel malts, soft marmalade, light spice. Not sure on the IPA connection.

500ml bottle as "Orkney Blast IPA Barleywine Hybrid" (not sure if this is a different recipe where it was previously labelled as an English Strong Ale? but the artwork and name are the same).
Crystal clear golden amber colour with a one-two finger frothy head and lots of lacing. Aroma of fruity, spicy malts, sweet caramel, citrus hops, orange, pine. Taste of sweet caramel malt, spices, fruit, orange, citrus hops, orange. Well balanced with nice bitterness at the end, smooth mouthfeel, alcohol well hidden. Interesting beer.

Cask at St Albans beer festival 2014, St Albans, Herts. A light amber coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Sweet, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and some butterscotch. Very tasty indeed.
