Can at home in Hackney - picked up at a market in Stoke Newington. Pours clear brown with a small, foamy tan head. Quite simple overall, lightly sweet, with notes of toasted brown bread, toffee, a little British yeast. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with slight ashy bitterness, more well toasted brown bread, burnt toffee. Drinkable enough.

Bottle. Black with reddish brown edges, coat of beige head. Aroma has light roasted grain, hazelnuts, herbs, licorice. Taste is very salty and slightly metallic with some roasted malt, cocoa and nut flavours. Sweeter as it warms and the shock of the salt wears off. Quite complex and interesting underneath, but far too salty.
