courtesy of markwise Not sure why I am rating this thing but here it is. golden, white head, aroma and taste, watered down with corn flavor, and light malts skunky at best. A whole lot of nothing.

Bottle that my roomate had bought a 12 pack of. Figured what the hell. I remembered, or thought I remembered, Michelob light having a sharp, metallic aftertaste to the point of high unpleasantness. No such thing here and I actually was surprised to find a decent, if somewhat bland and watery, beer. Kept waiting to pick up some glaring flaw, or off/stale/vegetal flavor, but nothing ever came. Even some proper maltiness (honey dough-like breadiness) and not even obnoxiously overcarbonated. Easy drinking, kind of like PBR.

Pours piss yellow into a shaker. Bright white micro head with medium retention leaves no lacing. Skunked malt aromas. Thin and sour with a crisp, dry diminishing finish. No real flavor profiles...perhaps corn and adjuncts.

12 oz. bottle "born on" 05AUG08. Clear golden color with a medium head. Good lacing. Strong grass and hay in the aroma with some subtle grains. Sweet, green apple taste with a grainy background.

Bottle. The palest of golds sits under a fizzy head and bready aromas. Flavor is watery malt with just a hint of peppery hops, some metallic stuff and a bit of corn. I honestly expected more from this...

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and yellow with a white head. Mild vegetable to grainy aroma. Flavour is mild sweetend cornish yet with a light vegetable note too. Ends smooth and light bitterness.

Aroma is light malt and light hop - at least more than in the Ultra. Amber tinged gold color with a white head that went down fast. A light bready aroma as the glass approaches the lips. Thin body with creamy/fizzy carbonation. The flavor is maltier than many macro lagers. The bitter is detectable, and it does tend to build. Crisp and clean? It develops a paper note in the finish. Leaves a gummy impression. Four decades ago I thought the draft was the best thing. Now this beer leaves my tongue feeling irritated.

I can’t remember what the old michelob tasted like but I sure did drink a few. This is the new all malt mich in the new lavalamp bottle. Twist off the cap and you get some veggie cabbage aromas. The smell clears in the glass. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color and appearance. First palate is good tingly carbonation. Initially has what I detect to be a mild pilsner bitterness, surprizing for a mass produced beer. After a few swigs, that flavor impact dissapears and it becomes more like an american lager. Morphs into a well behaved gentlemanlike brew with a decent amount of manners. Finish consists of a little industrialness that leaves me with an impression that it is very processed. Not too sure if this is actually better than the original michelob of old.

One of the disadvantages of studying for BJCP is the pale lagers. Pale golden body with a small frothy white head. Sweet grassy lightly grainy aroma. Sweet grainy corn flavor with a hint of grassy saaz hops. I never really expected to find hops in Michelob, but side by side with MGD this proved a winner.
