This sensory getaway transports you to a corner bodega with our friends at Funky Buddha in South Florida to recreate the flavors you’d find in a Cuban guava pastry. Championing the big, bold flavors that both of our breweries are known for, we brewed an imperial cream ale, adding lactose and vanilla to impart sweet, custard-like ribbons, and guava for filling its conceptual authenticity. It’s a collaboration that’s equal parts inspiration and admiration.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Mitch. Pours murky orange with a creamy, white head. Interesting nose, some vague fruits, vanilla. Medium to big sweet flavour with lots of guava purée, mango, tangerine, minimal bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carboantion. Sweet, juicy finish, lots of chewy guava, peach. Fun.

Bottle shared thanks to kermis. Murky orange with white head. Guava, vanilla, cream, soft herbs and malt, some icecream. Medium sweet and under medium bitter. Medium bodied with creamy feel. Bit weird with all the vanilla and cream.

Bottle shared at kermis's, thanks Chris. Pours orange hazy with some white top. Nose has lots of guava, that's a strange fruit but actually seems to work here. Sweetish, some baby vomit, and creamy resin feel at the end. Tastes quite creamy too, tropical resins and strong guava character. Reminds me some guava based drinks I believe I have had (but I am not sure). Fruit smoothie. Pretty tasty overall.

Draft at Mellow Owensboro. Pours a murky banana juice colored gold with a finger of creamy foam that lingers. Light guava and mango notes. Super creamy palate, slight wood, creamy mango juice and guava. Dryish and not too terribly sweet. Quite nice.

Bottle @ Bruery Bonanza 2017. Very hazy yellow pour with a big frothy white head. Guava, passion fruit, rotten fruits & vegetation, baby fecal matter & citrus zest I guess. Sweet & fruity taste. Vanillin. Round & tiny tart mouth. Whatever this is I hate it with passion!

On tap at Pinthouse Pizza Burnet. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong floral, guava, vanilla. Medium body, vanilla, guava, light tartness, very good.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden orange medium off white head nice lacing. Aroma is guava for sure some caramel and other sugars. Flavor is medium sweet very light bitterness lots of guava. Medium body soft mouth feel pretty good.

[ As The Bruery / Funky Buddha ¡Guava Libre! ].Murky matt medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, carmale, sweet berry - fruit (guava), dried fruit, light lacto and vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, vanilla sweet, sweet fruit, fruity, old fruit - pie (maybe that's the guava), light lacto.
