“Hugs feel great. But when you find yourself behind the wheel of a 4,000lb truck rumbling over the gravel, hugging each person you pass just isn’t in the cards. So you raise your finger off the wheel just enough to acknowledge your neighbor. The Farmer Wave is a completely legitimate and wholly appreciated acknowledgement. It really is the least you can do to recognize that fleeting moment that you share with another person. It is simple, but meaningful.” – Matt Dinges Farmer Wave is our ale brewed with oats, lime zest, lime juice, and salt in collaboration with our dear friend Matt Dinges of Good Life Provisions.

Hazy tan. The aroma has a fair bit of lime. On the palate, lots of lime - it’s bright and bold. The salt comes in just a little in the finish. The malts are biscuity, there’s a bit of peppery character, a touch of hop dryness. Good balance, very drinkable. The lime juice lends a little bit of tartness, clean but somewhat less than what you’d get out of a kettle sour. A beer that fits no style well, and doesn’t need to because it’s very effective.

Bottle. A- Lime, salt water, lemongrass. A- Golden color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Lime, slightly salty, subtle lime zest bitterness, slightly tart, lemongrass P- Medium body, average texture, medium carbonation, slightly chalky finish. O- A big thank you to Matt Dinges with Good Life Provisions for making this beer happen. I never thought I’d see Hill Farmstead sitting on the shelves in Nebraska, especially a specially brewed one just for this state. Wasn’t sure how I was going to like this. Figured it would have too much funk to it. Turned out to be very drinkable. Almost a mix between a saison/gose, in my opinion. A little dry and chalky on the finish but that’s really my only complaint.. The oats really give it a nice creamy body.

Bottle - Salt and some lime with lots of other citrus. Cloudy gold with a nice white head. Lots of citrus, salt and and a nice clean finish. Lots if fresh.

Bottle in Lincoln, NE. Shelfie. Cloudy yellow orange appearance with a white head. Aroma smells like lime, funk, salt water, and herbal notes. More salt in the mouth with some juicy fruit. Refreshing, dry, low bitterness, and salty. Kind of a Gose/Saison hybrid. I don’t dig the salt in this instance. It’s pretty good but it’s not good enough for me to want to clear all the bottles off the shelf. Solid but but exceptional.

75CL Bottle purchased a couple of weeks ago at Hill Farmstead. Split 2 ways at fridge temp in stemmed glassware.

A - Nectarine Orange, 1 finger off-white head with tight bubbles.

S - Nose is very much like a sweeter and more juicy version of Arthur with a mix of Florence. I’d also say it’s pretty herbal bu that could just be the yeast.

T - Oooh, this is nice. Really juicy and tart from start to finish. The first thing I get is this citrus juice, orange peel, grapefruit, lime and sweetness. it’s really good. Although, the finish, borderline too bitter like eating the orange skin that’s been sitting out in the sun for a while while. Lime juice is nice but the finish does leave something to be desired.

M - Nice bottle conditioned mouthfeel. Tight bubbles, good effervescent. Falls flat at the finish.

O - Good beer. It won’t upset the core saisons but it’s nice refreshing beer that would be good with fish tacos.
