Bottle from Bow Street Beverage, Portland, ME, drunk 11/16/25. As pictured.
Strong Scotch nose but not domineering. Spice, pepper, caramel and chocolate with light vanilla and oak. Nice balance. Easygoing at this point with no alcohol or any sharpness anywhere.
I think, had I not just had Froggie a few days ago, this would have nearly blown me away, but it pales in comparison to Froggie from the same vintage. Yet still lovely, with no aggressive anything and a good integration of peat and Scotch and oak. Tending dry at this point, but far from thin, with a slightly chewy at points body. No oxidation, no alcohol. Its past its peak but it's not very tired yet.

Geroosterd, turf, iodine, whisky, chocolade, lichte koffie, smaakvol, had ‘m minder verwacht, maar valt best mee.

Bottle shared at CBJ - cheers to Fergus. Pours black-brown with a bubbly tan head. Medium sweet flavour with nice peat, molasses, earth, gooey chocolate. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy with fine carbonation. Mellow warmth to finish, grapes, more peat. Tasty stuff. Rather drinkable.

Craft Beer Junction bottleshare, thanks to Fergus. Almost clear very dark brown beer, tiny bubbly darkish tan head. Airy smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft but rich dark malts, dark malt cream and reasonable chocolate. A pronounced fruitiness from the Octomore, almost Jenever like. Some usual ripe whiskey soaked fruits. Trace of spice. Airy finish. Very nice indeed.

Bottle shared at the craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. From cotteridge wines. A light hazed chestnut reddish coloured pour with a fading tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, boozy fig, jammy dried fruit, peaty whiskey salt, peat, dirty brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, oily, meaty peaty whisky, oak, dried fruits, sherry notes, fig. Palate is semi sweet, oily, moderate carbonation oily. Nice stuff. Bitter roast, woody tannin.

Poured from a 33 cl bottle, bottled on 07/07/2022. Aroma is full of dark chocolate and roast notes. Lighter notes of dark caramel, burnt sugar, molasses and treacle. Hints of leather and ash. Medium light peated whiskey notes with hints of oak. Light alcohol notes. Pours black with a medium large, thick, creamy, mocha head that recedes to a small film that lingers on the edges. Fairly high amount of lacing and long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet, but not on the pastry level. Lots of dark and bakers chocolate with quite a bit of dark caramel and toffee notes as well in the finish. Lighter notes of roast, molasses, and burnt sugar. Faint ash and leather notes. Moderately strong bitterness and medium alcohol notes. Light peated whiskey notes with hints of oak. Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit sticky, but again not on the pastry level with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really solid beer. I have these Black Damnations so infrequently that I forget how good they can be. This one was great and I don't even like heavily peated whiskey.
