Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear gold pour with a thick, foamy head. Weak malt aroma, some earth and bread. Flavor has a dry smokiness to it, lightly sweet, faint and tangy citrus. Light in body with fine carbonation. More smoke in finish, bit of mineral quality, light malts, beachwood. Odd but pretty decent.

(Cask at Carpenters Arms, Marylebone, London, 18 Apr 2009) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of apricots, orange and dusty hops. Fruity, malty taste with apricots, orange, biscuity malt amd dusty hops in the finish. Not very exciting but a decent and well made bitter from a consistently reliable brewer.
