Big brown foam that is bubbly and a huge dark black body. Sweet chocolate cheesecake aroma with lots of coffee and barley soaked in roasted cane sugar. Flavour is huge sweet chocolate and coffee with a soft finish. Very dessert-y. Very nice. Very heavy. A slow sipper.

330ml bottle at 11.2%. Pours jet black with a large head. Aroma is sweet tar and coffee, some blackcurrant, alcohol and vanilla. Taste is sweet with roast to start. Roast and liquorice with bitter vanilla on the finish. Quite boozy.

deep dark brown colour, huge, dense creamy brown head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of roasted notes, cocoa powder, dark chocolate and slight vanilla notes; taste of intensive roasted bitterness, which is fairly balanced by syrupy sweetness; some dark chocolate and vanilla notes can also be felt; good one!

(Bottle) Black colour with very brief, foamy, beige head. Almost flat. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread, vanilla, treacle and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted taste with strong sweet espresso, chocolate, black rye bread, vanilla, liquorice, burnt sugar and a balanced coffee bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, thick and oily mouthfeel. Quite sweet. Hardly balanced, too sweet and a bit artificial, but really tasty sipping stout. Nice one.

330ml bottle, purchased in 2016 so at least 18 months old now. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malts, vanilla, marshmallows. Taste is sweet, dark malts, vanilla, marshmallows, a touch of coffee, sugar, slight boozy alcohol note in the finish giving a gentle warmth, sticky. Full body, very low carbonation. Really nice, it is boozy but 11% is deceptive.
