Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

On tap at Ice Cold Beer Here 2. It pours a clear golden orange color with an off white head. The aroma has some toasted malt, orange, honey and flowers. The flavor is very caramelly with some earth, florals, toast and orange. Kinda sweet on the palate. Not bad, but a little too sweet for the style.

355ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Mellow malty aroma with a strawy touch and hay-like spiciness. Taste is slightly sweet caramel malty, cautious hints of toffee, a touch of hay-like spiciness. Slightly above average Märzen, mediocre overall.

Keg at the Fourteenth Colonie, Farringdon. Mid-brown, ever-so-slightly hazy with a bit of white head. Clean bready scent with some wood shavings and sweet herbs. Sweet, malty, balanced taste. The sweetness of the malt leads to a bitter/sour/sweet lip-smacking finish. Really nice.

355 ml bottle. Pours an unclear, copper colour with an average beige head that laces. Sweet malty aroma with caramel and bread. Sweet flavour of roasted malt and caramel with a bready note in the finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft to almost flat carbonation. A pretty easy drinking brew.
