Imperial Soft Parade is a gourmet specialty pour that is brewed with toasted rye flakes and two-row malted barley. Loaded with pureed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, we refer to this fermented potion as a fruit infused rye ale. The result is a refreshing fruit delicacy that’s easy to drink, appealing to look at, and finishes dry.

Bottle from kihoskh. #773 of 1008 produced. bottled 2007. As adviced on the beer information pamphlet, the beer was sampled while listening to The Doors, The soft Parade. Slightly cloudy red-amber, smooth beige head. Aroma is sweet fruity - red fruits like strawberries, raspberries etc. alcohol, jam, wine gums. seems a bit "tired". flavor is malty, bitter malty, red fruity sweetness, jam, frut peel bitterness, Alc. only noticeable as a sort of bitterness, I would prefer red wine, which the taste resembles slighthly. The bitterness and fruitiness resembles a little bit a belgian fruit lambic, but then - the sour part of fruit lambic is not here at all, leaving only a bittersweet ripe fruity flavor with alc. notes.

The bottle (386 of 1005) says this was also made with raspberries. Cloudy brown beer. Crisp and dry palate. The four fruits are perfectly balanced - nothing dominates, just a nice generic fruits of the forest flavour, but completey unsweet. After the fruit there is a sourish rye malt finish but no rye spice. Unusual but would have preferred the fruit to be sweeteded a little.

Courtesy of markwise. Pours pinkish with fizzy white head showing off ruby red hues here and there. The aroma is spicy, lemon, sweet juice, floral perfume and a bit of sour funkiness. The taste is punchy with some spice and citrus and then it gets tempered by red berry flavor cotton candy. It ends sweeter with fresh berry juice notes. Interesting stuff.

12oz bottle scored via trade. Pours a hazy, translucent, purply red with a thin, creamy white head. The aroma is very surprising, tons of berry, actually juicy smelling, strawberry, raspberry, grape jelly, leafy vegetables. Flavor is berry jam, raspberry cobbler, grape jelly, strawberry, with a distinct alcohol presence, some sweet malts too. Finish is medium bodied with a touch of tartness. The nose is great, the beer could have more of a malt backbone to stand up to all the other flavors.

Sampled from the bottle at the 2010 February Circle City Tasting. Poured a hazy reddish orange with a slight brown hue and minimal head. Flavor was full of sweet fruits including strawberry, cherry and a bit of blueberry with a slight tart undertone. Flavor had the same berry flavors and was sweet, but was balanced by a hint of tartness and alcohol.

courtesy of the Shorts tasting night group. early ’07 bottle. bottle#543 Pours a puree reddish mesh of berrie. Aroma was indeed intense in berries, not getting too much fruit tartness but just berry goodness where all the berries added to an overall sublime fruit bomb. Flavor, strong puree mesh of berries with hints of spices, some yeast not too much tartness and sourness. Overall beer could score a little higher if it was not for the berries being almost too much. Berries were there but could not really put on apart from each other.

Bottled (Pikkulintu). Deep cherry red color, reddish small head. Very berryish aroma, blackberry and strawberry. Flavor is ... like drinking fruit yoghurt. Alcohol, berries, sticky, some bitterness in the finish. This is odd berry porridge. Dry blueberry finish.
