This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

On tap at the Oktoberfest at CBB Bud Left hand Oktoberfest 6.8% is a clear amber with a soft malty caramel aroma, sweet. It’s got a round active carbonation that prickles the tongue. The taste is malty caramel, bready with a nice little hop bite in the finish.

12 oz. bottle from Prost Beer and Wine. Although I have had this before I had to pick up another because I forgot to rate. Reason I forgot to rate it is because it’s rather forgettable. Aroma is standard stale yeast, breads and caramel found in the style.
The flavor is indeed classic of the style but the thing that kills it for me is the very thin body. Watery in texture. Nothing off putting just thin. Sweet toffee/ caramel finish.

Bottle from Bert’s Deep copper color off white head. Big bready caramel maltiness. A bit too much caramel for the style. Earthy spicy hops to counter. Middle of the road American attempt at a classic German style.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a nice looking dark hazy amber color with a sly transparency about it. A one finger white foamy head quickly dissipated leaving sliding stringy lacing.
The smell had a sweet to decent caramel to nutty character. Light apple bread develops as it warmed, different but I liked it.
The taste was sticky sweet through the previously mentioned flavors rolling into each other nicely. A sticky sweet caramel to bready aftertaste leads into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a gentle almost cloying texture. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing it to be almost cloying.
Overall, I really liked the aroma and taste the best. I didn’t mind the stickiness but can see how others may find this to be a sticky mess. Still, I’d probably have again.

This isn?t quite passable. Tastes like rust with some paint thinner. Pours orange without much head or lacing. Astringent finish. Not great. Bottle at scion.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Spicy and a little dry. Drinkable, but not my favorite.
