This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Bottle pours clear copper with off white head. The aroma is sweet caramelly lagery notes, some spiciness, some apricot and peach and then mild graininess. The taste is grainy then sweet malt and then caramel and then sweet lageriness. Around those notes are thin fruity layers of pears and apricots as well as lingering hop bitterness.

On tap for brunch at the Stags head. Pours a nice copper coloration and tastes of malts, caramel, some honey, nutmeg and is slighty carbonated. Pretty decent for style and a good breakfast beer.

Bottle. Pours deep amber with a modest, off-white head. Malty aroma with some caramel and bread, along with light florals. Sweet flavor with more bready malts, toasted biscuit and caramel. Light to medium in body with average carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Finishes sweet with almost not lingering bitters. Nice.

Light amber - sudsy lace - pretty sweet, even for the style, with a fair dose of burnt grains and caramel flavors - a wee bit of buttery diacetyl muddies things up - a light orangy tang - it’s drinkable, but I will reach for a German example next time.

Draught at Ginger Man, NYC
Amber color; creamy head. There is some caramel in this brew, and correct bitterness. Not bad, but plain.

12 bottle. Filtered glowing amber orange-red color. Respectable enough head fades down to a thin, soapy beige layer on top. Mild amber malt aroma. Medium bodied and relatively straightforward, there is a nice balance between the medium dark malts and the smooth, light bitterness. Certainly on the bitter side of the Oktoberfest spectrum tastewise. The solid ABV and malty body stays with you in the aftertaste. Less malt dominated than most Okts, giving it a sight West Coast feel. A nice interpretation of the style.

Rich aroma of barley malt, caramel, and cashew, a little tinny, but tolerable. Dark amber, medium yellow head. Medium body. Flavor is of sweet toffee and cashew. Grassy bark finish. Nuttiest maerzen I’ve had to date, figuratively and literally. I do like it though, even if it isn’t true to the style. Think of it as an English take on a German style, brewed in America.
