0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in June 2018, best before February 2019. Gusher! Clear, very dark reddish brown to black with a massive, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, prunes and a touch of nuts. Gently sweet, malty, minimally bitter, quite fruity taste of caramel, nuts, some chocolate, raisins and prunes, followed by a short, just slightly bitter, a little roasty finish. Thin body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite solid.

Gravity cask @ In De Wildeman, sample size. Cloudy brown color. No head. Aroma’s of chocolate, malts, with dark fruits retronasal. Flavor is only light sweet, with some bitterness. Low carbonation. Light bodied. Moderate bitter finish, slightly dry. Quite true to the style I think, perhaps leaning towards a brown ale?
