This Barleywine is inspired by a praline layer cake (drool...) We took an English-style Barleywine and added vanilla, pecans, and brown sugar. The result is sweet, balanced, and delicious!

Sweet and lightly toasted malty with notes of toffee and caramel sweetness, caramelised brown sugar, some dried fruit shred, full bodied, vanilla and pecan nutty accents coalesce into the sweet malty warming finish. Lovely stuff.

Fat på Peders med kamraten P.N. Doft av engelsk toffe o bränt socker. Krämig med kolatoner o karamelliserat socker. Mjuk krämig o är det någon litet fel så är den något för söt. O kanske lite mer bourbon.

500 ml bottle from our membership. # 333/1340.
Spilt 4 ways which was perfect. Aroma of English toffee, caramelized sugar, figs. Nutty character throughout. Flavor is layered malt that shows the aroma. Real good but super sweet.

Bottle pour with membership group. Murky dark brown with ring of head, trace lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, fruit, vanilla, brown sugar. Taste is strong caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, mild nut. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, no alcohol, finish as taste. Very nice.

500mL bottle #331/1340, bottled 7/1/24, drunk 3/15/25.
Clear warm-toned amber-caramrl. Small, dark beige head.
Not as much raw sugar, wow! Pecan sweetness and rich nuttiness. Very English, very fruity.
Fruity, juicy, rich and with excellent, spicy vanilla. Chewy pecan, chewy caramel, fruity. Very sweet but not as unbalanced as some.

Murky, deep garnet amber. A ring of off white head. Legs. Nose has caramel and butterscotch and golden raisins and honeyed bourbon. Flavor is sticky sweet with dates and butterscotch, caramel and sticky toffee pudding. And booze. Finishes full, sticky sweet but not hot. Drinkable, in a way. 8 3 8 3 13
