The beer has a prominent hop character; a blend of Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade has been used in the recipe to bring the delicate hop flavour and aroma to the fore. The use of Cascade gives a pleasing citrus aroma. Finest pale Maris Otter malt has been blended with wheat malt and rye crystal to provide a full flavoured beer. The lavish use of late hop dominates the malt flavour and results in a satisfying pint.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours a dark clear gold, small white head, modest retention. Aroma of pale malts, an odd rhubarb and custard note, floral with light spice. Interesting. Taste also has a fruity rhubarb note with a biscuit malt base, a bit over filtered and tinny in the middle but some nice floral and spice notes in the finish with a moderate bitterness. Light bodied but fairly smooth with a high lager like carbonation. Mixed but on balance I quite like it.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a clear golden colour with a one finger creamy white head. Aromas of floral, bread, biscuits, citrus and caramel. Taste has more citrus, caramel, bread, biscuits and floral. Malty with mild floral hops on the finish. Medium body, fairly low carbonation and smooth oily mouthfeel. Nice Golden Ale.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - golden with a generous fluffy head. Nose - light caramel and biscuit. Taste - treacle cake, light citrus note. Palate - light to medium bodied, creamy and lightly sweet. Dry-ish finish. Overall - this one is definitely a Bitter possibly even verging on ESB.

Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants Kings Parade. Dark gold and almost clear. Very little head. Malt, lemon and a bit of tropical fruit. Bitter taste with quite a bit of sweet malt. Bitter aftertaste. Very unexciting if refreshing. The cask version is far superior.

Bottle. Amber beer with strong white head. The aroma is lightly malty, and the flavour is bitter with caramel maltyness. Overall a reasonable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy orange - gold beer. Crisp palate. Well balanced. Even malt, creamy. Leads straight in to orangey hops. Dry finish with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Standard stuff but well constructed.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 29 April 2011, drank mid July 2010, so fairly fresh. Poured twice into a half pint sleeve. The beer is a lovely golden colour (hence the name!), the snow white head sadly had no staying power although it did leave some heavy lacing on the glass. The nose was hoppy as was the taste, sharp and refreshing. The label lists a host of hops used in the brew, buy a bottle to find out which! Easy drinking and well worth trying.
