Cask at the Halfway House, Edinburgh - 08/12/12. Dark black with a thin tan head that recedes to the edge of the glass and leaves a film. Nose is a little subdued, cardboard, light malt, metallic tones, touch of the vinegars, not great! Taste comprises light roast malt, touch of chocolate, liqourice, molasses, light dark fruit notes, a little nutty. Medium bodied, softish on the carbonation front, dry finish. Pretty average.

GBBF Cask. Very dark brown beer, clear. Very light malt with lactose sweetness. Light and semi dry finish. Minerals. A very easy going light stout - well porter really!

Cask at GBBF 2009. Black, thin tan head. OK. Little thin in the mouth, but some choc and liquorice in the swallow. OK, too much liquorice for me which is never my favourite flavour in a stout.

Deep ruby coloured body. Almost burnt aroma of dark malts. Acidity of dark malts in flavour offset by hints of chocolate malts. Maybe a little too much sweetness towards the ending, but otherwise quite alright for a stout with this low alcohol strength (Sampled at the rating table, GBBF 05.08.2009).
