Rich, dark and full of malt flavours, this black bitter owes its characteristics to the large amount of chocolate malt giving it a velvety smooth rich coffee finish. No aroma hops are added to this beer, instead seven types of grain are used to develop the flavour.

Dobre i ciekawe, a raczej intrygujace piwo z Walii. Mild Ale tak bardzo ciemne jak najlepszy Stout z Irlandii. Niewielka piana i aromat czekoladowo-palony. W smaku troche slodyczy czekoladowej oraz sporo palonego slody. Finisz niespodziewanie wytrawny.

Gravity dispense at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough BF - 12/10/12. Mid black with a very thin tan head which soon clears to nothing. Light roast malt, a litle biscuit, licqourice and a touch of chocolate on the nose. Taste follows, dark malt, biscuit, hint of chocolate. Medium bodied with very little in the way of carbonation. Enjoyable mild.

3.7% ABV bottle, 12C. Black with a coat of light tan head. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, coffee, hints of dark fruit. Smooth oaty mouthfeel with little carbonation. Thinnish but not watery. Tastes like it smells, maybe some stewed dark fruit too. No astringency associated with the coffee, but a gentle dry roasted malt finish. Worked surprisingly well in the bottle.

Cask, Bow Bar. Almost entirely black. Can’t see much through this at all. Toasty, roasty, almost tarry aroma. Assertive and uncouth...I like it. Smooth, milk chocolate palate...rather refined on the palate...that’s unexpected...a quality sweet stout. It’s like a big mean-looking dog that runs up to you and licks you.
