Our eponymous Flower “Pots Bitter” is a blend of some of Hampshire’s finest malted barley with a selection of Challenger, Goldings and Northdown hops. Toffee amber in colour, with a balanced bitterness from the English hops paired with a subtle malted caramel sweetness from the malts, the award winning Pots Bitter is a traditional British beer and is named after the Flower Pots farm where beer was first brewed in the 1830’s.

Cask stillage at the brewery. As Pots bitter. Poured a clear copper colour, with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light yeast and caramel. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, malt, biscuit, light caramel, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from JSteve and drunk at home. Clear mid brown bitter colour. Lasting beige head . Light caramel aroma. Some earthy hops. Hey its a brown ordinary bitter that tastes exactly how you would imagine. Slightly malty slightly hoppy. I mean it is moderately bitter for a bitter.

Cask ale, half-pint at Guide Dog. Shared with Finn. Bright amber coloured body. Bubbly pearl white head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Moderate smell of apricot and caramel. Mid-sweet fruity flavours joined by caramel and bread. On the sweet side of bittersweet end. Fair enough. (Southampton 21.10.2019).
