Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a small white head. Just some vague floral hops in the aroma. In the mouth the hops are more bitter though there is an underlying sweetness. Texture is quite juicy with grians to the fore plus ints of citrus and corn. Finish is bitter and slightly sticky. This is decent – plenty of taste to it.

Hand-pulled pint in the excellent Cock Hotel, Wellington, Shropshire with my Dad on 27th July 2013. Light golden with a thinning white crown. Hop and mixed grain nose, the hops being floral and peppery in nature. Taste was also mixed grains with floral and spicy hop notes: the beer got more dry and bitter with each mouthful, or that’s how it came across to me. OK and thirst quenching: wouldn’t want to drink it all night though.

Cask at the Briar Rose, Birmingham, UK on 28th December, 2009. Gold with thin, lasting white lacing head. Hoppy with some peppery notes and grassiness; brief caramel malt interlude before a very dry finish on a zingy texture. Just a hint of saline. Full of condition, very well kept by the pub too!

Cask handpull at The Hop Pole Inn, Aylesbury, Bucks, 21-07-09 Pours gold with tight white head. There is a little fruit and malt on the nose, these also appear in the mouth. Surprisingly bitter and a bitterness that lingers, the end is rather dry. Really quite enjoyable. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.5
