Flint knapping' is the process making of simple tools by hand from flint. As with brewing, it's a skill that requires much care and concentration. Flint Knapper is our celebration of these traditional practices. A select blend of pale ale and chocolate malt – and our use of Goldings hops – have given this smooth ale a rich amber colour and a taste with malty overtones.

Re-rate as I work my way through a case of this beer at home. A good session beer and overall a pleasant pint. Plenty of malt, some bitter hops and a biscuit and farmyard flavour. And a nice and low abv. Drinking this puts a smile on my face.

Cask at the Old Gaolhouse (JDW), Winchester. Deep copper with a loose cream head; bubblegum aroma; distinct taste of "Fruit Salad" sweets to start, then a fresh, gentle bitterness; before a cinder toffee finish. Not bad.
