Pareto (Port Wine BA) is a monumental wee heavy aged to perfection in port wine barrels for 12 months. Decadent caramel sweetness cut with oak and notes of port wine. Luscious brew suitable for slow sipping.

330ml bottle [2017 vintage]. Clear, very dark, chestnut colour with fantastic ruby glimmer and average, thick, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, sulphureous-beige head. Sweet-ish malty and slightly woody, vinous aroma, hints of caramel, cherry, oak, Port, a touch of blue grapes, very mild and cautious, funky overtones, a tannic touch. Taste is minimally dry woody, sweet-ish caramel malty and vinous fruity, hints of cherry, blue grapes, caramel, oak, Port, bitter hoppy counterpart; lingering, sweet-ish, vinous fruity and minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily texture, smooth, soft, silky palate, fine and gentle, but efficacious carbonation. Excellent brew.

Bottle 33 cl. Dark brown with bronze color, tan foam. Aroma: old barrel, wet oak, shades of old port wine, caramel malt, dried fruit, plum, a little vinegar, I expected more, honestly. Taste: complex, barrel, different malt, blue plum, dried dates, slightly sour, tawny port wine, warming, oak, a little brandy.

330ml bottle online from Beerdome, NL. Pours opaque very dark brown with a tight tan head. Faint aromas of light roast malts, berries, dried fruits. Taste: moderately sweet, boozy, dark malts, dried fruits, caramel, oak, vinous hints. Medium bodied, tight frothy carb, sweet-ish finish. Slightly disappointing

Bottle @ Seavans tasting. Darker brown pour with a reddish hue. Some beige foam on the top. Nose is quite nondescript, berries and some soft red wine. Some deeper caramel, light herbal and brett bitterness, boozy a bit, interesting. Wish I could taste it when it was fresher, not sure how it has been aging.
