Brewed to pay homage to traditional British milds, Nut Brown Mild is luxuriously smooth, delightfully dark and subtly sweet. Maris Otter, Crystal & Chocolate malts combine to create a complex, chocolatey body. Fuggles hops add a touch of sweetness that will tantalise your tastebuds, sip after sip.
Traditional mild ales date back to the 17th century, when they were known as young ales i.e. freshly brewed. Nut Brown Mild is a great example of how we revive traditional British ale styles for modern palettes.

Cask at Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours clear, pure gold with a foamy white head. Mostly dark berries in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with some dark toast, light chocolate, mellow leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweetness to finish with dark toast, mild berries, leaves. Basic stuff. Fairly bland (even for a mild) but not offensive.

[Gravity cask at Chiltern brewery shop] Chestnut brown with a medium, frothy beige head. Glorious rich malty aroma made me desperate to get this one down my throat. Flavour isn’t quite as strong as aroma would suggest, but nevertheless it’s full of rich earthy roasted malt, plenty of nutty flavours (as the name suggests!) and a hint of chocolate. Good balance of creamy sweetness and dry bitterness in the finish. Good mild, this one.
