Voici une nouvelle version de Jour et Nuit, une nouvelle série de stout au café en canette! Cette nouvelle itération met en vedette un Symphony No.9, un café expérimental du Rwanda torréfié avec soin par nos amis de The Artery Community Roasters situés à Ottawa. Pour cette version, nous avons utilisé un café fort différent de part son processus unique de maturation des baies. Vous y trouverez des des notes chocolatés, de fruits rouges et une légère torréfaction. L'objectif de la série Jour & Nuit est de mettre en vedette de différents cafés sur une base de stout classique, délicate et définitivement plus sèche qu'à l'habitude. Nous voulons ainsi mettre de l'avant l'union entre la bière et le café.

A deep dark stout with no head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with dark coffee, light vanilla, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark coffee grind, musty character, light alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at De la Gappe location.

Pours a real dark brown-black colour with hardly any copper highlights. A nice mocha-coloured frothy head, good retention and lots of lacing streaks left. Not getting much coffee at first, but more chocolate malts and a tad plum (among other dark fruits). Then, the coffee really comes out nicely, to blend with the rest, and roasted malts. A smooth, lightly thicker mouthfeel with some decent dryness in the finish, that makes it not too syrupy. A nice mix of coffee-hop bitterness lingers nicely. You can then taste the roasted coffee notes in the background. A pretty easy-drinking coffee stout, with the coffee not being too strong, but nice undertones all across.

Can: Poured a black color ale with a medium size dark brown foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of floral coffee notes with light residual lactose notes. Taste is also a nice mix of floral coffee notes with some nice chocolate and roasted notes with bitterness offset by lactose notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Really enjoyable coffee stout.
