Cask at the Cask Pub and Kitchen, 3rd November 2011. Reasonable IPA, I prefer the American Pale Ale, the IPA may be better on Keg a little colder, not impressed either by the Cask Pub and Kitchen, which seamed to be fairly rough in clientele when I visited.

Cask at CP&K. It pours golden yellow, with a thin off-white head. The nose is resin, cheese, fresh hop and pine. The taste is oily green hop, resin, wood, light alcohol warmth, spice, touch of honey, pine, citrus rind and grapefruit, with a decent bitter-dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A solid cask IPA.

Cask at CBC, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. Ripe, dirty citrus in the aroma, bit of wet hay. Flavor is medium to heavy sweet, lots of juicy fruit, oranges, tangerines, salt, light pine, rotten fruit, pee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warming finish, lingering ripe citrus bitterness, some floral hops, oranges, wet pine needles, caramel, honey. Really good beer.

Cask at the Southampton Arms on 26th September 2011. Gold with thin white head and initial lacing. Rich hoppy aroma then thickly hoppy in-mouth with rich grapefruit and some sweetish tangerine fruitiness. A hoppy, citric aftertaste and a thick mouthfeel.

Cask at Egham USC, Surrey. Hazy golden coloured pour with a decent fluffy head. Floral, hoppy aroma. Tastes hoppy, a little dry, citrus fruit. Pretty decent effort from Dark Star but they brew better beers.

Cask. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and wooden with some grassy notes also. Flavour is wooden, grassy with some mild vanilla and fruityness. Alcohol gives a slight burning feel on the tip of the tongue.

Cask (gravity)@HBF 2008
Golden clear color, small white head. Grassy-woody hoppy aroma, not very strong. Sweetish hoppy flavor, sticky mouthfeel. Good reliable Dark Star, but not really exciting.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London 21 Apr 2006) Colour is golden yellow, with amber hints. Nose is malty and fruity (grapefruit), although a bit discreet. Taste is malty, earthy, rather sweet with a long, hoppy and bitter finish. Very enjoyable, would never have guessed 6,2% abv.
