Dark Lager
Black Panda breaks the stereotypes about dark lagers. It turned out great, not sweet, and is wonderfully drinkable and refreshing. You’ll notice roasted malt, which adds interesting notes of roasted coffee beans. The distinct hop aroma of the fine Saaz and the stronger Premiant hops supports a higher, yet not overpowering bitterness, and a pleasant carbonation. We don’t brew this type of beer often, so don’t hesitate to try it – it’s worth it.
Fermentation: Bottom
Plato: 14
Water: Prague City Water
Malts: Carafa special, Caramunich, Munich, Pilsner, Wheat
Hops: Premiant, Saaz

Can, at bbd. Pours clear dark brown, with a big creamy off white head. Aroma is roasted malts with bread, dark chocolate, burned sugar and nutty notes. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is fairly sweet roasted malts with bread, coffee and burned sugar, as well as floral hops. Dry finish.

Smooth, bready and toasty with hints of rye bread, caramel, toffee, earthiness, grassy hops and a touch of fruitiness, mild bitterness and roastiness in the finish. Soft and crushable, pretty good.

500ml can as part of a delivery from Raynville Superstore and drunk at home. Pours chocolate brown, fairly translucent with a slightly loose buff head. Fresh aroma, chocolate malt and pine, some light grapefruit, maybe a touch of ginger. Taste is fairly complex, spruce and more chocolate, it gets quite bitter in the middle of the sip but finishes on a nice balance. Light notes of liquorice in the aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. And artfully presented black lager.

500ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Steady off-white head over a deep dark brown body, crocheted lacing. Attractive aromas of brown malts, mildly roasted, and mid-dry. Good taste, highlighting nutty caramel and dark bread. Roasted, mid-sweet malty ending. Medium bodied. Drinks very well. Enjoying. (Tromsø, 05.10.2025).
