Brutal bitter is a imperial bitter and one of the original hazy beers that dates back more than 20 years. Brewed and dry hopped with 100% Rogue Farms Alluvial hops that exhibit flavors and aromas of peach (no fruit added). The malt adds good structure, some nuttiness and provides a deep golden hue.

650 ml. bottle poured in to a tulip. Hazy, copper-orange colour with a dense, white head. Floral aroma with bread malts, citrus, peach and resin hops. Taste is medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation. Finishes bitter with citrus fruits and bread malts behind. Not in anyway brutal, more a well balanced and well made IPA in an English-American fusion style.

On tap at BrewDog Camden, London on 10th October 2012. Hazy amber with lasting head and full lacing. Rich grassy aroma with inviting fruitiness. Deliciously hoppy in-mouth, with fine grapefruit tang and leafy, grassy notes. Rich and intense bitter finish with a lingering tongue-tingling citricity. Zingy, yet dry mouthfeel and plenty of body. A splendid IPA. RE-RATING 14.03.2013: On tap at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Hazy amber with off-white head and lacing bands. Sweet fruitiness in aroma. Rich grapefruit hop and yeasts in-mouth with pepper and spice. Bitter end; smooth mouthfeel and moderate body.

Bottle at the Bear Street Tavern. It pours cloudy orange, with a medium off-white head. The taste is orange, tangy, zesty grapefruit and caramel. The taste is dough, orange, apricot, tangerine, tangy marmalade and caramel, with a decent bitter finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Smooth and easy drinking. Decent.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar Kuala Lumpur. What can I say. Another lovely beer from Rogue. Not my favourite though and not what I would consider to be a typical IPA. I'm much more into the dry hopped IPA's, but that's my personal choice. Light amber pour, almost no froth and no lacing. Light aroma but quite a malty taste for an IPA. Very smooth. Not bad at all! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
