A dry still cider. Available in 500ml filtered bottles and occasionally on draught.

The Foxwhelp apple is one of the oldest recorded varieties of cider apple, dateing back over 300 years. It is thought to have originated on the Herefordshire Gloucestershire borders, where it remains as popular today with commercial and traditional cider makers alike. The trees grow to a good height, bearing apples which are good for blending with the lesser varieties. However, it is best kept as a single variety, which produces a dry, crisp cider full of body and flavour.

Draught at Station House Spring Fest 2019, Durham. 7.0%. Murky straw golden colour, no head and funky tangy apple aroma. Taste is tart, tangy apple, lots of funky barnyard, leather, woody solventy with earthy tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tangy tart & tannic finish. Very drinkable

Bottle at Craft Islington share - thanks to Fergoos. It pours clear rich oily amber with no head to speak of. The aroma is sweet, oily, juicy, candy, vanilla, fruit pie, slightly sour apple and oak. The taste is rather drying, bitter, tannin, oiliness, cider vinegar, vinous, wood, apple skin and funk. Medium body and just the faintest hint of carbonation. Challenging, but I don't mind it. Not a session cider for sure.
