Handpull cask at the Blue Boar.reddish brown with almost a purplish hue. Smattering of beige/khaki head. Malty aroma with some berry and some cola nut. Taste is nicely balanced with sweetness cut by hoppy bitterness toward the long finish. Full body, soft carbonation. A delicious traditional beer.

Aroma of blackberry, cherry pie, prune, biscuit, malt, caramel. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a slight tart edge. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Fruity, malty finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at The Claret. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with minimal head. The nose is earthy, malt - driven, brown bread, wood, light dusty vibe and some dried fruits. The taste is bitter, earthy, wood, brown bread, dried fruits, apple skin, dull toffee, leather, fruit cake and chewy malt with a dry, woody finish. Medium body, low carbonation and chewy mouth-feel. A touch dull to be honest. Ok for what it is.

Chelmsford Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Almost clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry and mildly crisp. Nice palate. Rich flavours of marmalade and cherry. Touch of spice. Underpinned by light sweet malt. Finishes light and semi dry. Tasty number.

[cask at North Wiltshire Beer Festival] Syrupy, slight bitterness, rather watery for the style. Having said that, it was the last pint before they took the barrel off so perhaps not the best time to judge it...

Cask@GBBF2007. Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is unflavoured yoghurty sourness along with wood and slight fruityness and earth. Flavour is pretty much the same with some caramel in it. The caramel also stays for long in the aftertaste.
