This is an old style traditional strong bitter which is smooth, malty & full bodied. The name is a Norfolk colloquialism meaning a bit wonky or not quite straight. Objects may appear this way after a few pints! Voted Norfolk CAMRA Best Strong Bitter 2009.

Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 4. Pours dark brown with a foamy, white head. Light wood nose, some dark and ripe fruits. Mild toast, dough and fruits in the flavor. LIght bodied with fine carbonation. Pleasant and balanced finish. Faint leafy bitterness, a bit more wood and toast, ripe fruits. Very, very good stuff.

Bottle that I think that I picked up at The Real Ale Shop, Wells-next-the Sea, June 09 consumed 23-07-09 Pours copper in colour. The aroma is malty and milk chocolate. Soft in the mouth the milk chocolate comes through again, some bitterness, this is quite rich full bodied beer, good stuff. A7 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.5

(Cask at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Mahogany colour with brief beige head. Malty, nutty nose with hints of chocolate. Malty, nutty taste with notes of cold coffee and moderate bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Not too complicated, but fair enough.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2007. Deep chestnut, lasting bubbly beige. Bit syrupy, good red berry fruit. Not a bad ESB. Decent hop on end.
