Imperial Brown Ale

This bold, brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of chocolate malt for its deep color, and aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced brown ale to a decadent level.

355ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy red-brown with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces nicely. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and ash. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, dark chocolate, earth and vanilla with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Nicely balanced and tasty. An excellent Brown Ale.

F: big, pale tanned, good retention. C: dark brown, clear against the light. A: dark malts, coffee, caramel, bit herbal, dried fruity, dark bread crust. T: dark malts, roasted tones, coffee, caramel, dried fruits, bit oily mouthfeel, bit earthy, full body, medium carbonation, decent bitterness, I expected more complex beer yet for sure good beer anyway, enjoyed, #3600, 355ml bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout bottle shop in Belgium.

Clear but very dark reddish brown beer. The smell is all coffee, the taste isn't a million miles off that. Malt, a bit of dry hoppy citrus, some caramel. But the coffee is what defines it. Rich earthy coffee. Lovely stuff

Clear dark purple brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: green coffee beans, fruity touch, soft roast, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: soft chocolate touch, sweet, caramel notes, malty, bit sourish. Aftertaste: coffee, soft roast, some dark chocolate notes, sweetish, more caramel.

Bottle with Luka D. and Trolleo. Very dark brown, off white head. Dry maltiness pierced by slightly chocolatey coffee in the aroma. Medium taste... Coffee and mild cocoa, quite fine, bit dry. Tasty stuff, excellent for the ABV with the very well hidden alcohol. Dangerously drinkable!
