Cask @ Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. Clear amber color with a small fizzy fair lacing mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is light malty, roasted, caramel, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic.

500ml bottle. I used to drink this many, many years ago as a student. I was quite surprised to find this in bottle and from Camerons at my mother’s local off licence. So I had to buy it. Deep copper/amber colour with thick lasting creamy beige head. Lots of caramel and slightly artificial. Creamy in mouth with more toffee. Some soft hop on end. Otherwise not very hoppy or interesting. I was glad when I finished it.

Draught (keg) at Hogan’s, Darlington. Amber colour, low head. Moderate toffee aroma. Smooth, malty, easy drinking "bitter" in the North-Eastern style, low bitterness. Reminds me of Tetley’s.

Dirty amber colour; yellowish tinted head. If this beer has a nose, I’m unable to detect it, despite having a serious Punch-type myself. Quite nutty flavour (beer is slightly overdue), bit biscuity. Some faint caramel. There’s a slight slickness. What worries me most, however, is that "watery" doesn’t even do it right - I seem even to detect the chlorine of the mains in the palate. If a British brewery says "smooth and creamy", I knew things were bad. But this bad... In mediaeval times, beer was drunk as substitute to water, ’cause it was boiled and thus safe. I think water is safe enough, now.
