Da vi bryggede denne øl første gang, var det meste julebryg sødt, mørkt, stærkt og fyldt med julekrydderier. Altså ikke specielt velegnet til det gode, danske julefrokostbord. Så vi var enige om at denne øl skulle være et mildere og friskere alternativ.
Jule Hvede er ravrød og har en fin, afrundet maltsmag. Øllet har en god balance mellem kanel og en let, krydret sødme med strejf af nelliker. Helt fortjent en meget populær øl til jul.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of shortbread, grain, and fruit. Bitter flavour of hops with notes of cinnamon and cloves as well as grain and banana. Sweetish, estery aftertaste. Discernible alcohol presence, which, perhaps, should not be the case, given the ABV. Interesting but more this than good.

Medium offwhite head doesn’t last. Hazy opaque amber with light carbonation. Mealy wheaty chocolate aroma with spicy banana notes. Dry-sweet earthy caramelly taste with dusty spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry roasty earthy caramelly aftertaste with spicy dusty notes. Really well balanced and full of character. Highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly, Molde.)

Pours cloudy orange/amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, caramel, yeast, clove and fruits, Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours are banana, wheat and sweet malts.

(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20121208) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had clove, boiled vegetables and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, clove, boiled vegetables, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. Either the keg had gone bad or this beer is just lousy - I assume the former.

0.5l bottle. This is a deep glowing orange cloudy one with a nice medium sized off-white top. In the aroma I get a soft fruitiness with traces of vanilla, cloves, ripe old berries and wheat. Could be that it's a bit to cold so will leave it for a while. It opens a bit more up, sweeter and maltier. Nice stuff. It has that same thick oily mouthfeel the whole hvede-series has and it's soft on the carbonation. Softly spicy flavors, some cardboard and wet cat with sweet red really ripe berries. Almost no bitterness what so ever in this. It has a light pepper-spicy aftertaste that gives a soft burn down the throat. Not to Christmassy either in my opinion, but nice enough. 04.11.2012

Shared 500 ml bottle from Vinmonopolet, at Cardinal Yule beer tasting. Surprisingly dull aroma, no sign of the typical wheat beer notes, just some dust. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, sweetish notes, hints of cloves and banana. Very far from a great beer though, the most inferior I’ve had from Indslev.

Fra fat på Gavlen kafe, København: deilig hveteølaroma med ekstra krydder. Tett fint skum og stor munnfylde. Deilig smak av julekrydder men allikevel frisk og litt syrlig. En kjempegod (hvete)juleøl.

0,5 l. bottle, shared. Red-browh colour with a small white head. Aroma of wheat and Christmas spices. Well balanced taste: Medium sweet. Creamy texture with a medium body. Finishes light bitter. Nice Christmas beer.
