500ml bottle from Real Ale Corner, Brampton - Hazy ruby-brown body with a thin tan skim. Nose is plum, toasted caramel malt, a bit of estery yeast and doughiness. Dry flavour, plum, dry caramel, pine, sour orange and crab apple sour finish. Full mouthfeel. I have mixed feelings about this one.

Nose: Sour notes, green apple. Taste: vinous, leather, leading to green apples, a touch of cola, toffee, oak, malt and a touch of smoke leading too slight sweetness and herbal, medicinal tones in the finish. The mouthfeel is too thin. An interesting beer, but is not really what I would expect from a dubbel.

Bottle thanks to Leighton (thanks for the Whale bro). It pours hazy deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is wood, earth, leather, vinous aspect, strawberry and raspberry yoghurt. The taste is caramel, wood, earth, leather, dried fruit, light tanginess, raisin, tart raspberry and alcohol warmth with a dry finish. Medium-full body and soft carbonation. Nice depth of flavour. Surprisingly I rather like it. Good stuff!

Bottle shared at King William IV, London during the Magic Rock event. Pours mostly clear, golden-brown with a moderate, creamy tan head. Tangy fruit nose, cherries and berries, some toasty sugars. Medium to big sweet flavor with moderate alcohol presence, tangy berries, some bitter leaves, light earth, toast. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, lightly funky with big tangy berries, cherry, grape, prunes. Fairly dynamic stuff. An interesting British take on the Belgian dubbel.

0.5l bottle courtesy of StoreMy shared with ClubGonzo and InBreak. A massive massive gusher. I got the honor of opening it and it ended up all over the table, the floor and me. It's a really hazy red-brown body with a lasting lacing off-white head. Aroma thick of blue cheese. Dust and sour white vine flavors. Clearly clearly infected. Flavors are totally off. Nuff said I suppose? 12.02.2012

Odd beer! Low carbonation, almost flat. Sour brown ale with a dry finish. Odd tones of brandy and a sour very dry finish. Did I say odd?
