Willemoes Ale is a full-bodied top-fermented beer with a pleasant malty character. Willemoes Ale is brewed with pilsner malt and the very best hop. The delicate blend of brown sugar and liquorice achieves a perfectly balanced sweet and rich flavour.

’A beer, completely sweeping everyone off their feet’.

5.2% alc. version. amber, brown head. aroma is slightly nutty, slightly sweet, malty, a bit like a traditional danish brown ale, or perhaps a belgian dubbel, although i almost don't get any belgian yeasty notes. Flavor is sweet, faint licorice like note, malts, bitter and sweet nuts, pretty decent traditional danish brown ale ish flavor, quite solid flavor for a 5.2%er, i think the licorice is a bit too prominent in the flavor, and it distracts a bit from the rest.

Clear, copper colored, medium frothy off white head. Aroma is of caramel and strong honey, some cardboard. Taste is medium+ sweet caramel, brown sugar and again honey notes, some cardboard, moderate- grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation, sticky. Reminds me more of honey than licorice.

Rated from old notes. Rich and smooth with an exquisite caramel aroma. The dark creamy head lingers. Heavy. Drink it with food on a cold winter night. Good.

500ml bottle, 5.2 % abv, thanks to djoeye for sharing. Clear copper coloured body, a deep ruby shade to it. Fair beige head. Brown malty aroma, notes of dried fruits. Dark caramel flavours added by raisin, forest and dark fruits. Malt-fruity end. Fair enough (Tromsø 16.03.2015).

500ml bottle. Clear, reddish, dark copper-ish brown colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, modrately lacing, off-white head. Strawy aroma with traces of animalistic metabolism end-products, cautious hints of red berries. Taste is dry, minimally fruity, a touch of red berries over a dry undefinable grainy-strawy-malty basis.
