Keyaki. Dark brown, small golden head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, bit of smoke and spice. Taste is good and roasty with creamy sweetness. Creamy coffee bitterness too. Pretty full bodied but easy drinking still.

Tap at the Craft House, Kyoto. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light liquorice, chocolate, light lactose. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth rich, slightly, oily, chocolate, sweet lactose palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Nice and very drinkable but a little too sweet for me.

Bottle 300ml (sampled in Nagoya)
Dark brown color, medium-sized beige head. Vegetables, coffee, toasted malts, light hints of barnyard in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Coffeish, chocolate sweetness, some twisted yeasty notes. Could be even a brown ale. Not my cup of beer.

Draft - Bitter chocolate that mellows a bit to milk chocolate. Jet brown with a light brown head. Chocolate notes, bit of dark fruit and a light sweetness into the finish. Just average and the ’Milk’ is a little light.

Part of a set on Rakuten direct from the brewery, bottle. It poured a dark black with a light reddish-brown head. Served straight from the fridge it was too cold which made it tasteless. As it warmed up, it started to have coffee notes. It is a smooth stout, quite light & slightly acidic? Not bad.
