Red in colour and so beautifully fruity by nature, you’d be forgiven for thinking this is one of your five a day. It’s not…. but it should be! A symphony of fruitiness.

Bottle at home from the brewery. Long day and a beer was needed. Meetings started at 8am and a board meeting at 10.30. Anyway, great pour with a fantastic head. Rich flavour and mouthfeel and hit the spot.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours a clear mahogany with small beige head, some retention. Aroma of rye, red berries, sweetness, toasted malt. Taste of rye, toastiness, dark fruits, toffee, citrus zest. Needs more bitterness in the finish although tasty.. Light to medium bodied, fairly smooth, soft carbonation. Nice.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a deep ruby colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of dark fruits, berries, caramel, nuts and toasted malts. Taste has more of the same notes from the aroma, caramel, red fruits, berries and nuts. Malty with a roasty, toasty and earthy bitterness on the finish. Medium to full body, hardly any carbonation and very smooth mouthfeel. Really liking this beer. Excellent.

Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2022. Cask @ Regal Moon, Rochdale. Mahogany-amber with a creamy-frothy head. It’s a soft malty brew with a hint of sweetness in its aroma. It has a pleasant texture but is perhaps not quite sessionable.

Cask-conditioned at the WG Grace (JDW), Bristol March 2022. Reddish amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Leafy hop character, some red berries and tangerines, earthy and sweetish malts and a moderately bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Pours a rich ruby red with a small off-white head. There’s malt and rye in the aroma here, plus some hints of dark fruits. These fruits are more prominent in the mouth, along with grains and a hint of cherries. It’s bitter at first but some sweetness gradually seeps in, along with dried fruit and a trace of citrus. Finish is dry and fruity. This is a pretty decent beer.
