Quadruple mash Barleywine with rye and Chevallier malts for a thick, jelly-like body and marmalade finish. Cold-fermented yeast adds apricot esters, with red fruit and floral tea notes from Bramling Cross and Tango hops.

Panda courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin! Dark brown colour with red tinge, beige foam head and aroma of malt, barley, rye, roasty. Taste is sweet, malty, rye, roasted, bready, chocolate and fruity notes, earthy, hop hint, with some bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied, light soft carbonation, drying bitter finish with some rye. Nicely drinkable.

Can split on 832/813 to Stanhope, picked up from HOTM online, 05/04/2025.
Deep mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is dark malts, molasses, toasted brown sugars, dates.
Taste comprises fruit cake mix, dates, raisins, dark malts, spice, light booze.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy enough old skool BW.

Can. Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer with a good tan head. Smooth airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Soft malts, a mellow dark chocolate and cream vibe that is much overloaded by rich brown sugar and unsweet toffee. A smooth coffee note re-emphasises the dark malt aspect of this barleywine. Decent. I suspect this brew would benefit from 6 or 8 years of aging but, it's still a tasty brew right now.
