Imperial Stout + Wine Barrels + Time

The decadence in this beer is derived from our imperial stout base of Wildebeest. It's been accentuated by a hint of acidity and fruit character picked from its barrel ageing in Pinot Noir barrels for upwards to 2 years!

Tap at Kufle i Kapsle in Warsaw. Black color with an irregular and gassy ivory foam. Nose: totally red wine and dark chocolate...all the way. Mouth: a vibrant RIS. This wine mouthfeel is charming, sexy, and gets along with cocoa overall. Fantastic!

Black colour with brown head. Lovely aroma, like a coffee chocolate truffle. Lean body; there are notes of coffee, less intriguing than the aroma, and relatively strong acidity from the red wine barrel, this one is quite distracting.
Good, not my kind of beer to be honest.

Dark brown with a thin head. Chocolate and dark fruit on the nose. On the palate, too. Quite tart, and quite messy. Full flavoured but you really have to like the dark sour vibe, because this just tastes like a sour stout with wine added. That's not a combo I have much interest in.

On tap at Darby's Gastown, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of red wine barrels, moderate roast, and some light balsamic. Flavour is wonderfully complex, with intense red wine barrels upfront, medium roast, and a touch of coffee. Really like the red wine barrels here. Excellent.

Black with a brown head - Sour dark malt aroma - Dark malt body that goes sour with berry flavours - The sour flavour with berries goes into a long finish - This was real good

Draught @ TCBW’18. Rated on 5.5.2018
Aroma has soy sauce and oaty malt. Flavour has soy sauce, berry juice and grapes. Rather weird for a BA IS. Too much berry juice in this one.
