Though it’s based on an English Pale Ale, we tried to create a summer beer that would combine an intense aroma and high drinkability, while keeping a full-body, ideal for warm summer evenings.
We use Galaxy, a hop charged by the Australian sun, that, together with Citra, give the beer its intense aroma of tropical fruit. For bitterness we used the Apollo hop.

Beautiful yellow body and great head. Aroma of fruity hops with many layers. Flavour is a balanced hops delivery with a nice dry finish. It’s a perfect IPA. Found it out on the edge of Prague, then found it again at Field restaurant in the centre of Prague (bring money if you go there).

Tap. Tapped, Leeds. Opaque, orange gold. Swirls of carbonation keep an eggshell of a head alive. Damp, resinous, citric hop. Barley sugar. Some basil like herb. Taste is punchy, pithy bitter. Little in the way of sweetness. Comes over a tad drying. Body feels a bit thin, probably not helped by being too fizzy. Punchy bitter finish. Ok.

Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015 Trübes goldenes Bier mit einer ordentlichen weißen Schaumkrone. Der Geruch ist nass hopfig, frisch, Heu. Geschmack mild hopfig bitter, grasig, im Abgang süß malzig.

Hazy dark blond. Aroma is a bit soapy, lemony. Flavour has some mild apple. Light bodied. Something in the background is a bit earthy and stinky.

On tap at Pub 17 and Funus, Bratislava. Golden color thick white head, hoppy smell. Aroma extra malty, syrup, yellow fruits (mango, apricot) grapefruit, orange, fruity american hops. Taste fuity sweetish with strong bitter hoppy final. Medium body soft carbonation. Smooth almost sticky finish. Looks like a mild IPA, excellent one.

Sample @ 6de Gents Bierfestival 2015. Dorée, col fin blanc. Arôme est fruité, frais et vert manquant un peu de donner la complexité du Galaxy. Le tout est frais avec un agréable bouquet d’agrumes. Palais est léger malté, fin amer, houblonné moyen et fruité avec un fleuri très plaisant. Retrouve ce profil malté présent dans de nombreuses bières tchèques, une présence grains de premier ordre. Sachant la teneur du Galaxy en contenu fruité, j’attendais un peu plus de cette version. Reste solide.

At GBF. Czech interpretation of APA, with stable, creamy head and hazy golden blonde colour. Aroma of ripe purple gooseberries, mango, green banana, passion fruit, biscuit, peach and stale sweat. Crisp, fruity taste, smooth mouthfeel, bit toasted and caramelly with aromatic, spicy, floral hop bitterness in the end. Conceptually okay, but the ’sweatiness’ in the nose bothered me a bit, but only the first time: this aspect was less strong in the batch I had at Hopishop in October 2016, so I’ll take that into consideration and make this rating an average of the two.

(Thx! for sharing) 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Hazy orange, small white head. Nose is very raw & hoppy, grass, floral, raw barn & hay, tad malts, raw in a good way. Taste is raw, almost a bit wort-like, bitter dry grass, flowers, plants, hay, light cereal + honey malt sweetness in the back,… Body is raw, malty & strongly dry and bitter. Unrefined in a good way, quite nice.

Small, off-white head over hazy amberish orange beer. Citrus, sourish fruit, spices. Bitter flavour; citruspeel, bit of restsugars. Light body, slick, lightly oily MF. Quite OK.
