For our fourth anniversary, we wanted to celebrate with a food-friendly beer that also evokes some of our favorite non-beer beverages. This foudre-fermented blonde ale was refermented with fresh Pinot Noir grape must, aged in a Copperworks gin barrel, then bottle-conditioned with honey.

500mL bottle. Pours slightly murky gold with small white head. Aroma has tons of grape must, oak, and a touch of botanicals and sweet honey. Flavour funky wild yeast, sweet honey, grape must, oak; finish has some tannins and botanicals. Interesting and complex, none of the components dominate, though perhaps a bit uncoordinated.

Re-rate: poured from the tap. Same rating. July 13, 2022 (7/4/8/4/15=3.8): Poured from the tap @ Garden Path w/McBerko. Slightly cloudy dull copper orange with huge white head. Funk, mild vinous grape skin, oak, feint gin on the back end.

On tap at Garden Path, pours a cloudy orange amber with a medium white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops, subdued vinous notes and a touch of oak. Flavour has more pronounced grape skins, some floral notes from the gin, some oak, and light bugs. Vinous and buggy finish, with light gin character. A bit messy but well-made ultimately. Good stuff.

Tap. Clear pinkish color with white head. Aroma is flowery, berries, some herbs too, interesting profile. Taste is the same, lots of flowers. Oily mouthfeel, soft but noticeable carbonation. Interesting profile, but it's not exactly for me.
