Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is dry roasty, light grassy hop, light fruit, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, rich woody resin, light peppermint hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Some nice bitter notes but lacks fruit and carbonation to make it a classic BIPA.

From bottle (McCoppins, Fitzroy). Resin and herbs on nose. Pours black with some head. Very thin in mouth. Bitterness not as balanced as I hoped and lack of a strong malt profile makes for a off kilter effort.

Bottle. Dark brown with an inch of tan head. Aroma of kumquats, nectarine, some pineapple, pine, bread. Maybe there’s a little cocoa, but one of those ... Perhaps there’s a little singed huskiness in the taste, but again it’s mostly bread under lots of fruity hops. Very clean, slightly peppery too at the fairly bitter finish. Agreeable but perhaps lacks a bit of character.
