(Can) Pours black with small tan head. Good aroma with plenty going on - roast grain, berries, booze, chocolate. Full bodied, smooth, creamy, soft carbonation. Excellent mouthfeel. Great taste too and again a lot going on. Throughout there is a nice balance from dark toffee sweetness and burnt sugar bitterness with the finish being the latter. There’s chocolate and notes of berries. Excellent.

500ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, some treacle, a touch of vanilla, fruity overtones of bramble and blueberry, plum butter. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, bitter and fruity hoppy, slightly vinous, notes of dark chocolate, bramble, blueberry, black cherry, plum butter, blue grapes. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate, efficacious, minimally prickly carbonation. Nice fruity notes in this one.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2017 - cheers all! Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds tangy dark malts, chocolate, light ash. Medium sweet flavour with notes of chocolate, light booze, earth, brownies. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more chocolate, simple dark malts, ample roast. Not bad.

330ml bottle, 12C. Very dark brown with a light tan head. Roasty aroma with brioche, mocha, some vanilla. Oily, very smooth. Very sweet with lots of bread and mocha, some licorice, nice vanilla. Not as much roast as foreshadowed and it needs either that or a tad more bitterness. But it's a fine, rich stout with no jarring notes.

Cotteridge #3: 20th May 2017. Cheers Mr Pink for bringing this offering, the only Australian beer at the tasting. Poured a dark brown with a lasting tanned topping. Molasses, chocolate and tar in the aroma, taste had some soy sauce alongside the semi-sweet molasses, chocolate and tar from the nose. Liked it.
