Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a medium size head with limited retention. Aroma of tart and sour notes with some oak and some weird notes of what I presumed to be whiskey. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some oak, some medium intense acidic notes with some light funky notes and some off whiskey notes. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Interesting and complex but lacking some attenuation and not sure whiskey was such a good idea.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, complex mix of Brett, ground cherries, wooden barrel, light pear character, very nice. In mouth, a nice mix of Brett, apricot, ground cherries, lactic acid, very nice and complex. Bottle.

(Tap sample @ CBC 2016 Red Session, Copenhagen) Pours clear yellow-gold with a white head. Aroma and taste are dominated by a distinct, very high level of rich oak character, rather burnt, not deeply spirit-heavy but very clearly non-neutral barrels all the same. The base beer's blend of tart citrus/apple/pit fruit, white wine, slightly grainy malts and funky yeast are mostly buried underneath the layers of oak, which also make for a dry finish with tannic bitterness that mostly masks the persistent tart notes and a hint of whiskey. Medium-full, slightly oaky, soft carbonation. I am not sure how much I could drink of this, not a big bottle, but it's impressive for being relatively unique and still well-made despite its high assertiveness. Glad I tried it.

Draught@CBC2016. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is very big time oak, some wood, spruce and mild toffeeish and sourish notes to it. Flavour is quite similar, but in a nice balance.

Draught @ CBC 2016 [ Red Session ]. - Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016, Oksnehallen Vesterbro, Halmtorvet 11, 1700 Copenhagen, Denmark. [ As Casey Advanced Oak Theory - Whiskey ].Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate yeasty, barnyard, earthy, grapes, wine - white wine. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration, funky, tart, grapes - wine, damp stain - fusty - wood - oak. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160514]
