On tap at Vrteška 2017, Belgrade. Shared with Višnja 666! Dark brown, medium tan head. Roasty, biscuit, dry fruit, light soy sauce. Sweet and roasty balance, aromatic. Medium body, medium carbonation, light dry, roasty finish. Very nice, great balance.

(Keg at Bier-Bier, 20170626) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, fruitiness and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A rather sweet, hoppy and burnt brew. Not really my thing.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Kenny, 14/03/17. Light black with a decent tan cap. Nose is pine needle, biscuit, toffee, light black peppery spice, jammy berry fruits. Taste comprises light charr, subtle roast, toffee, cocoa sprinkle, pine dusting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Decent enough CDA but far from TOP 50 material for me.

Bottle. Pretty much black with a large light tan head. Spiced chocolate brioche aroma with floaty grapefruit and orange blossoms, some nectarine. Soft texture, medium bodied. Like a number other BIPAs I like, carbonation is on the low side of medium - it seems to bring out the chocolate whilst still giving the citrusy hops room to move. The chocolate, bread and caramel malty flavours are nice but maybe a bit simpler than suggested in the aroma - the rye doesn’t get up to much really. Fairly bitter at a finish that dries out only a little. Floral and citrus notes linger.

42nd Floor Bottleshare. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Reasonable carbonation. Smooth dark malts, mild bitterish roast. Bitterish dark chocolate, well integrated. Modest floral hop and light pine. Smooth finish. Nice CDA but Top 50?

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenworth. Pours rich brown with a dense, frothy beige head. Classic aroma, some burnt pine, light chocolate, zesty orange, well toasted bread. Medium sweet flavour wth well toasted brown bread, light coffee, cocoa, scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with burnt pine, dusty cocoa, scorched earth. Great all around CDA.
