Citrus nose. Hazy deep golden to pale amber, mid-sized foamy off-white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma pale malts, grapefruit, lemon, minerals. Taste medium bitter and sweet, malty, citrusy, grass, minerally. Dry bitter aftertaste, orange peel, chalky. Light body, oily texture, average carbonation, astringency is a bit over the top.

Bottle shared in London - sourced from Beer Gonzo. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. The nose holds some pithy lemon, grapefruit, hay, grass. Light sweet flavour with mellow grassy bitterness, pine needles, more pith. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with some grassy bitterness, lemon rind, pine, pale grains. Not bad.

Keg at Ubrew. It pours hazy deep orange with a small off-white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, orange marmalade, kumquat, tinned peach, tangerine and candied peel. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, pithy citrus, piney, orange peel, marmalade, kumquat, soapy with a dry, zesty finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Not bad. The taste doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.

(Keg at Gallows Bird Real Ale Tribute to Shakespeare, 20160903) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had creamy toffee, herbalness and black currant leaves. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were black currant leaves, grass, nettles, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good mild and hoppy pale ale.
