Lovely stuff. Rich yet subtle. Sturdy roast, torched wood, earth, a little ash, charred caramel. Overly toasted whole grain bread. Had a nice toothy bitterness about it. Well balanced, too. Solid.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 17th April 2026. Deep coppery red with shallow tan foam affording spot lacing. A rich roastiness dominates the aroma. Some sourness. Hazelnut, coffee and sour fruits in-mouth, and a finish of nuts, sours and roasty malts. Light bodied with a smooth if not flat mouthfeel.

Can at home picked up from the Anspach tap room bermondsey. A robust woody roast, light char, rustic woody bark, some cakey malts, light vanilla, . Flavour is composed of nice rustic woody roast, bark, light tangy dark fruit, mineral. Some funky bretty funk, dried fruit, light dusty grains. Palate is semi sweet, dusty, highish carbonation. Nice earthy rustic porter.
