Cask at Bird In Hand, Stafford. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head. The aroma is a mix of malts, biscuits and caramel. By contrast in the mouth it is sweet and fruity with a creamy texture. Flavour is dark fruits, malts, citrus and lime. Finish is quite sharp with a little stickiness. This is unusual – but nice.

Cask @ Goat and Munch, Chester [040518]
Black, ruby edges, dense tan head, good lacing
Aroma - soft sweet blackcurrant boiled sweet
Taste of dark fruits, blackberry, dark fruity malts, maybe hint of lemon, much more emphasis on fruit than dark malt flavours
Palate - light body, smooth, soft sweet. FInsih if light sweet, soft dark fruits, slight hint of roast
Overall - Nice fruity mild

Gravity cask at the 2016 Cambridge Beer Festival. Mid-brown and translucent with an off-white head. Coffee and chocolate as well as berries and oak aroma. Sweet slightly sour taste. Slightly grainy aftertaste. OK but not to Salopian’s exacting standards.

Cask at the Lion Tavern, Liverpool. Brown amber colour, off white foam head leaving lacing and roasted aroma. Taste is mellow roast malt, toffee, with citric hoppy notes and mild bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy finish. Quite drinkable.
