Cask at the Willow Walk, JDW - London. Pours clear deep gold with a frothy white head. Bready malts with accents of fruit in the aroma - some berries, apples, citrus. Medium sweet flavor with further ripening fruits, some mild husky bitterness, nice orange, slight leaves, bread. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Sweet finish by still pretty well balanced, with notes of pale bread, berries, light earth, toasted hay. Quite drinkable.

Cask at the Pump House, Solihull. Poured a clear medium amber with a long lasting frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a yeast, floral hop bitter palate and lingering bitter finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Crystal-clear amber with a moderate off-white head and a light sparkle. Fruity up front with a hint of spice. Caramel follows in a slightly cloying mouthfeel before fruitiness returns in the mildly dry finish. OK beer.

Cask handpull Muggletons jdw Maidstone. Now I don’t have a good impression of Hilden but always come to beer with an open mind. Clear brown amber colour lasting beige head. Fruity red fruits hoppy beer. Strawberry jam. Tasty. I liked the fruit. Ok condition hoppy finish.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. It’s sometimes hard to tell at these ’Spoons Fests whether you are getting the right beer or not. This one certainly isn’t a deep red beer, as described in the notes. It’s actually a golden amber pour with a tight cream head, that leaves a pleasant lacing on the glass; the aroma is sweet and grainy; as is the taste; and then there’s a dry biscuity grainy finish. Satisfying - what ever it is.
